EXCELLENT Based on 10 reviews Posted on Google Chad La TouretteTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fahi and the team of teachers at Happy Day are lovely. We have been enrolled at Happy Day for approximately a year and our daughter has had a wonderful experience learning from the teachers alongside her classmates. We've really enjoyed becoming part of the community of parents, and our daughter has made many new friends.Posted on Google Margaret MarvinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My son started going to Happy Day when he was about 2.5 and he's been there now for over a year. We've had a lot of transitions at home but our son has had such a good experience at Happy Day that we are making every effort to keep him enrolled for as long as we can. The teachers at Happy Day are extremely kind and caring, and we deeply appreciate how supportive and flexible they have been in accommodating our family's needs. We love the Montessori structure, and Happy Day has an atmospheric of patience and calm, tucked in a lovely corner of Albany where the kids are able to spend a lot of time outside. We've been so happy with our experience here and we absolutely recommend!!Posted on Google MayuTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We are so grateful for the two years my son spent here. The teachers are dedicated and truly care about each child's development. Over the two years, my son gained so much confidence and social skills. Every morning, he was excited to go to school, which speaks volumes about the atmosphere. We are truly grateful for the love and support the teachers provided. Thank you for everything!Posted on Google Noah PollaczekTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our daughter attended Happy Day Montessori starting August 2022, and just graduated after three years at this excellent preschool in the heart of Albany. We're delighted to have seen our daughter grow into the kind, self-assured, and sociable 5-year old she is now, with warmth and loving guidance from Fahi, Anahita, and the school's many supportive teachers and staff. Our daughter has thrived in developing alongside her fellow Honeybees and Bumblebees: she has learned many interpersonal skills, developed her gross and fine motor abilities through arts projects and Montessori self-guided play, enjoyed weekly participatory music sessions, had fun cultivating and eating from the garden, and much more. We're sad to say goodbye, as our daughter begins kindergarten, but are grateful for the many good memories, and friends for our daughter, that remain from her time at Happy Day Montessori Preschool.Posted on Google Carolyn TuTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our son started going happy day 1 year ago and he loves it ever since. He didn’t speak any English when he joins but that didn’t prevent him from making friends and building great relationships with the teachers. He loves teacher Fahi especially for her kindness and care. I was worried that after the summer vacation is over he will have a hard time re-adjusting the school but he was thrilled to go back and had no issues at all! I really appreciate their flexibility and support to our special needs. If you are looking for a school filled with love and laughter this is definitely going to be the one! My son sometimes even forgets to say goodbye in the morning when he rushes to the class!Posted on Google Yan YangTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our son started attending Happy Day in 03/25 at 2.5 years old. We love the warm, nurturing community this school fosters. All the teachers have loving wisdom in respecting kids and guiding them with empathy and care. Teacher Fernanda and Teacher Nadia helped him to fit in over the first two months. Teacher Fahi, Teacher Anahita, and Teacher Dunia also take good care of him. Our son likes the activities at school, including music lessons, gardening, outdoor play, interactive games, and art crafts. He is happier, more sociable, more independent, and has developed social skills such as sharing, taking turns, and expressing his needs and feelings through words. We can see that he enjoys his time with his teachers and classmates at Happy Day. During his potty training phase, the teachers were very patient and communicative, keeping me updated when I picked him up. Thanks to their support, he does not wear diapers now! I highly recommend Happy Day!Posted on Google Jessica LaneTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Happy day is an amazing environment for young learners and we so are grateful to the teachers! Our son just graduated this year and we’re planning to send our daughter in a few months. We can’t imagine a more loving nurturing place for our children to learn and grow!Posted on Google Wen ViennaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My oldest one started Happy Day in 10/23 and youngest one will be starting next Jan. We love Happy Day and the community. It’s a smaller school, which means intimate and closer students/parents/teachers community which we prefer. But it has various programs a large school can provide-gardening, cooking, outdoor time, a huge indoor playroom, music class… I know lots of parents/grandparents volunteering regularly to provide variety of activities and cultural experiences to students. Lady and most importantly, teacher Fahi, Nadia,Dunianand Fernanda are just so sweet. You can tell from their interactions that they truly love their classes. We are blessed to have Happy Day in the neighborhood.Posted on Google Akira TsujiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My son was greatly stimulated in various fields, such as language, art, and music at Happy Day Montessori Preschool.Posted on Google Greg PorterTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We cannot say enough positive things about Happy Day! Fahi, Anahita and the rest of the teachers are so kind, supportive and patient with all of the children. Our 3 year old son has absolutely loved his time here and so much of his growth and development was fostered by the environment at Happy Day. Perhaps the best indicator of how much positive energy is at Happy Day is the fact that all of the kids are so happy and carefree when we do drop offs and pickups. That is not easy to do with a group of young children! But it’s definitely because they feel safe, seen and cared for at Happy Day. We are so grateful to all of the teachers here. Their patience extends to the parents too! Fahi, Anahita and staff are so accommodating for each child’s unique needs, from picky eaters to big emotions, we’ve always felt seen and heard as parents. It’s an amazing school and was easily the best decision we made when moving here!

Right from the start, all the teachers and staff at Happy Day were so welcoming and making sure that our 4-year old daughter felt at home. The staff and teachers are wonderful, keep the children engaged, and help them learn and grow based on the Montessori approach. Almost every day, our daughter comes home with either something new she has learned at school, such as learning about the continents, or some new experience that happened, such as making crafts for Mother's Day. If your child is ready for pre-school in the Albany / El-Cerrito area, we strongly recommend to put Happy Day Montessori at the top of your list.Posted on Yelp Catherine T.Verified My son has been attending Happy Day Montessori for more than a year. He has been so happy here. All the teachers have been extremely caring and gentle. He especially loves Teacher Fahi and Teacher Anahita. He has grown so much during his time here, including his language skills and desire to be independent and to do everything himself. The facility itself is great and clean. I love that they have a big theater space upstairs so the kids can run around during rainy/ cold days. I highly recommend Happy Day Montessori for those who are looking for preschool for their children.Posted on Yelp Melissa N.Verified I just wanted to add that this experience was not a good fit for our boisterous and at times, struggling to communicate all his 'big feelings' place for our 3.5 year old son. I wasn't able to post this on Berkeley Parents Network because it was negative, so figured it was time to post it here- FYI this post is now a few years old and our son is thriving in elementary school. We were fairly happy in another local Montessori school but I decided that Happy Day would be closer and more convenient for us after we moved to Albany without really considering a number of factors. I in part attribute to my post-baby brain (we had just had our second kid when we started Happy Day) to not thinking more about it, and asking more questions before we decided to enroll our son here. One such question would be around discipline practices because our son had 'terrible 3's' really badly. For us, communication was a struggle due to COVID and the amount of time we had to check-in and talk and see how our son was doing wasn't enough, teachers didn't have time, and we really didn't understand why he was having so many issues with hitting other kids, being frustrated, temper-tantrum-y etc. There was just a level of stress and contention with everything about school and we just couldn't process why. This was in a matter of a few months. It got to the point where we had to have a therapist help and shadow him at school. We paid hundreds of dollars to have someone shadow and observe our son in school so we could find out what was going on (arrangements were made with the schools' help to have the therapist come of course.) The therapist really helped shed light on what the issues were. We learned why Montessori is actually not a good fit for our son, and the schedule and also lack {in my opinion} of outdoor/free play and outings such as to a park. Our son really needs to burn off more energy with play and doing physical, loud, and boisterous things little boys like to do! They did have free play in the wonderful gymnasium upstairs but it seemed like the oscillation between structure of Montessori then no structure at all in free play was actually hard for him. We enrolled at Happy Day in October, and left by January. We were fortunate to find the therapist to help us with our son and we moved him to a more suitable, home based environment that is more loving and nurturing for our son.
